So this year I’ve been hard at work cleaning up social media profiles and getting rid of platforms and the toxic environments that come with them.
As for Twitter, I quite like Twitter and I find it a nice place to go on, while it can be toxic, I find that if you follow good people and disable retweets from the people you follow it can be an enjoyable experience.
So to start fresh I used the website Tweet Delete to clean up my profile and only post positive stuff, refrain from”trolling / playing devil’s advocate, or just inserting myself in the latest news or hot topics. It sort of seems like self censorship in a way, and I can certainly comment and engage in the conversation if it feels relevant to me or if I believe that my contribution is meaningful, but I’m probably not about to change anyone’s mind on a topic that they feel very strongly about, in fact the more you push the more they will feel more strongly about their position.
